This is the first time I'm writing on my new blog that Leigh-Ann has made me for my retirement journey. I'm looking forward to writing about our big trip, my family, Ruby, our cottage, projects I'm working on and of course Olivia and Kennedy, along with many other things.
This picture was taken in May, Amanda and I kayaking for the first time at the cottage. I had tried sitting in my sister Patty's kayak a few summers back and wanted to try it out, but due to the wind on Lake Winnipeg, I thought I may be under the kayak. I couldn't keep it steady! So when Amanda and Matt got these 2 kayaks this Spring, they pressured me to try it again and thank goodness I did. We went off down the lake for about 40 minutes. I had a lot of fun kayaking for my first time!
Shawn and I are taking our big retirement trip on Sunday and we're both really looking forward to it. We haven't seen any of the places in the U.S. that we're visiting on the way, should be a lot of fun. Follow us on our journey as we head to Tofino, B.C. I'm sure it won't be all roses traveling together and being away from home for a month, but we're going to have a lot of fun. :)
