Yesterday (Thursday) we went grocery shopping in the POURING rain, you know how I feel about rain with curly hair, YUK! By the time we got home, it was flat on top and ringlets all over. We got most of our groceries for Tofino yesterday, sorted through and packed a good part that we could and gathered the other things throughout Kim and Brian's house that we needed.

This morning we woke up to overcast skies, but the weatherman said it was supposed to be a nice day and it did turn out that way, went up to about 23C and NO RAIN! We drove to Crescent Beach and White Rock, walked along the beaches picking rocks and shells. Shawn and Brian sat on the old man's bench waiting while Kim and I did this. When we were at White Rock, we walked down the pier to the end where there were some men with crab traps trying to catch crabs. They strap a raw chicken leg inside which attracts the crabs, they each had a couple crabs in their traps. They have to measure them to see if they are legal size, if not they throw them back into the ocean. The one man was able to keep one of his which was probably about 5-6" across the body alone, then the legs on top of that. We also saw 2 Bald Eagles and 2 Blue Herons.

After we left White Rock, we went to the Liquor Store to get our WINE for the island. YUM, YUM!! Also went to the local vegetable stand where Kim and Brian get their fresh veggies and got everything we needed there. We packed up the Murano with what we could in the roof bag and got the rest of our luggage ready for tomorrow morning. We will have an early start, have to be at the ferry shortly after 9 in the morning to head to the island. Looking so forward to it!! :) I'm keeping my eyes open while on the ferry to watch for whales and dolphins.

| Kim and Bill, doesn't it look like he owns her!! |

| Wasp Nest found on their neighbours house tonight, about the size of a football! |
Kim and Brian's neighbours cat Bill, has been coming over to visit since his owners are gone away. I really think that Bill is Kim and Brian's cat, and Bill owns them. Kim will do everything for him, she pampers him so much, buys food and treats for him and he even has his own blanket there. He just has to come up to their door and look in and she's running to the door to let him in. She has the keys to Bill's house and goes over to go get him and he looks at her like "where have you been, I've been waiting for you"! Who owns who??
Talk to you tomorrow!
I think we may run out of food and wine by mid week and have to buy more in Tofino! Yeah right.... We can stay there a second week with all the food and wine we have..... Off to enjoy some Island life...... slower paced
